New Features in SketchUp 2024
Performance improvements: SketchUp has improved its performance for both 2D and 3D modelling, providing quicker and more predictable performance.
The new graphic engine in SketchUp for Desktop: The new engine offers substantial improvements in model load speed when you orbit, zoom, and pan. Users can toggle the new engine on or off based on their hardware and system. The average performance boost was an 8.4x increase in FPS rendering.
Scan-to-Design [Labs]: Available on SketchUp for iPad, this feature allows users to gather context and as-built conditions efficiently with a powerful new LiDAR-scanning feature.
Add Location improvements: Available on the desktop application, this feature simplifies the process of adding site terrain to your model.
Ground Mesh: Part of Scan Essentials, this new tool auto-detects terrain on the point cloud and automatically turns it into an accurate ground mesh with a chosen resolution.
Ambient Occlusion: A new style setting that adds visual emphasis to corners and edges, Ambient Occlusion increases perceived depth and realism within the SketchUp interface.
IFC 4 Import & Export Improvements: Available on the Desktop application, IFC import and export improvements boost SketchUp’s effectiveness in advanced BIM workflows.

Subscription Terms: You must sign in to access your subscription. You can sign in with Trimble ID or by using Google. Regardless of how you sign in you will access products under a Trimble ID user account. Each user account can only be associated with one person. You cannot create a generalized user account that is shared by more than one person. This is what we refer to as a named user. You also cannot create more than one user account per person.
